Investing in your career and learning is your responsibility, not your organization’s.

Be the CEO of your career and drive it the way you are a leader of your destiny.

Most of us will happily pay for expensive wants but ignore learning needs to invest.

This investing pays you back in the long term, so start today and not when you need to reap the benefits like finding a job.

Think of the career path you want to take and find learning opportunities.

You need to build that infrastructure that allows you to grow. So here are a few things you can invest in.

📌 Industry events & conferences: Find interesting events, meetups, mixers, and conferences in your area of expertise or where you want to grow. Get to know what’s trending in the market and be closer to the reality and hype!

📌 Certifications & Professional training: Learning never stops, even if you become a VP/CEO. Find opportunities to learn professionally from experts and institutes. Invest in learning platforms like Udemy, LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, or even YouTube. Apply those learnings and close the loop to gain experience.

📌 Mentoring: Find mentors in your field or outside who can help you answer the questions you are seeking help on. Mentors are not the directors of your life; they help you choose the right course of action. Build relationships with a handful of them and get the third person’s view you may need. Please do not just ask them to find a job; it’s much further than that.

📌 Join communities: Thanks to social media and open networking, you will find professional communities internally and externally in the organization aligned to your skills/profession. Being part of these communities help you to learn, gain experiences and build a sense of belonging.

📌 Self-learning: Effective learning can happen beyond classrooms, certifications, and courses. If you have the right network and community, you can open-learn through experts around you through blogs, videos, and conversations. Take an active part in such informal learning, and you will gain many practical insights. Sharing is caring!
