Innovative Ways to Post Job Descriptions

Recruitment Marketing could be a great way to tell a story beyond regular content marketing. An otherwise vanilla content like job descriptions attracts the most attention from target candidates, even if they are not actively seeking opportunities.

Recently, I came across a few truly outstanding examples of sharing job postings that caught my eye.

MajnuBhai’s painting

What is more entertaining than using Majnubhai’s world-famous painting to discuss hiring a design head? It’s funny and acts like an open challenge to candidates to sign up for a turnaround story. Well done, Kartik Rao.

Hiring Manager Video

How about a hiring manager creating a short video to tour the role and organization? Wouldn’t that be more exciting than reading a job description? Ryan McIntosh is hiring someone for his team, and his video certainly stands out. It visually showcases the overall environment, office, opportunities, and everything in between.

In the age of short videos and shorter attention spans, would you consider creating a reel for your job?

Engaging Voice-Overs

I have known Arindam Deb for a long time, and one of his superpowers, beyond recruiting and sourcing, is his innovation. While working for Adobe, he created an interesting voice-over video of himself sharing a job description through animation. I not only loved the content but also appreciated how he showcased his organization’s product up front.

And lastly, a bit of a shameless plug about GoDaddy wouldn’t hurt, I assume :)

Our incredible EB team produced a video to promote SDE jobs in Pune, in which one of the hiring managers shares his perspective and pitch for joining GoDaddy.

Next time you share your job posting on LinkedIn (or anywhere) starting “Exciting Job Opportunity,” think twice; think like a candidate and a marketer. You don’t need to have a marketing or branding in your job title to act like one :)
